The zone IV

Real truth is invaluable
and luckily a reason for slight enjoyment
gets me through the zone faster
and helps me my feelings master

Author’s note:

‘The zone IV’ is the 4th and final part in an abstract and reflective piece about feeling more inspired and creative when writing poems, songs, etc. whenever you’re sad. It’s such a paradox and impasse because I appreciate writing, but I feel it’s best when I’m sad. On the other hand I’ve learned to appreciate these moments, so I get through my issues and feel better on the other side.

The zone III

In reality it’s a paradox
for the best writing comes
from the saddest and truest moments
from when the soul really torments

Author’s note:

‘The zone III’ is the 3rd part of 4 in an abstract and reflective piece about feeling more inspired and creative when writing poems, songs, etc. whenever you’re sad. It’s such a paradox and impasse because I appreciate writing, but I feel it’s best when I’m sad. On the other hand I’ve learned to appreciate these moments, so I get through my issues and feel better on the other side.

The zone II

It helps me share some thoughts
But are they real or forced
Are they just for your entertainment
And not really my way to vent

Author’s note:

‘The zone II’ is the 2nd part of 4 in an abstract and reflective piece about feeling more inspired and creative when writing poems, songs, etc. whenever you’re sad. It’s such a paradox and impasse because I appreciate writing, but I feel it’s best when I’m sad. On the other hand I’ve learned to appreciate these moments, so I get through my issues and feel better on the other side.

Signature White

The zone I

Only true darkness
Takes me to the zone
Sometimes I think I try
To force myself to cry

Author’s note:

‘The zone I’ is the 1st part of 4 in an abstract and reflective piece about feeling more inspired and creative when writing poems, songs, etc. whenever you’re sad. It’s such a paradox and impasse because I appreciate writing, but I feel it’s best when I’m sad. On the other hand I’ve learned to appreciate these moments, so I get through my issues and feel better on the other side.

Sry

Finding comfort in the cold
Sitting, shivering
The cold wind triggers the tears
Letting go of fears

Just survive somehow
Reify, rationalize
Unable to worry
Body vs. cold, the only valid story

A precarious solution
Yet, yearning
Currently choosing to trick the mind
Later I don’t know what I’ll find

Author’s note:

‘Sry’ is a piece about dealing with issues in a self-destructive manner. It might be better to trick your mind into thinking you’re all right by doing things such as smiling in the mirror, appreciating little things, etc.

Signature White

Hide

I sing someone else’s words
Because my own voice is about to crack

Author’s note:

‘Hide’ is a two-fold metaphor. On one hand being thankful for other people having experienced a similar emotion and you thus being able to relate to them. This could be through poetry, a song, movie, etc. The other angle is being passive and agreeing to follow the other person despite what you feel like.

Signature White

Wall

It’s so satisfying to hit the wall
As hard as you can
Feel the pain
Nothing to lose, nothing to gain

Author’s note:

‘Wall’ is about being in a self-destructive mood where everything feels pointless. You know nothing good can come out of punching a wall, but at the same time you’re so down that you don’t see what bad it could cause to get your emotions out.
